Jewish Autonomous Region Ready to Take Part in the Far East Street Exhibition at EEF 2018

Jewish Autonomous Region prepares to present the region at the Far East Street Exhibition, which will be held on 11–16 September at the waterfront of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) campus in Vladivostok as part of the 4th Eastern Economic Forum.

The design concept of the JAR pavilion this year is the Jewish wisdom through the years. The decoration will include quotes from sacred texts, philosophical and ethical treatises, parables and statements by famous personalities.

The investment zone will take up the central place in the exposition. Guests of the pavilion will get acquainted with the projects of Amuro-Khinganskaya Advanced Special Economic Zone, international cooperation projects, as well as objects of social development plan for the centres of economic growth. By 2020, a number of significant health and education facilities will be constructed in the Region.

One of the areas will demonstrate the result of implementation of the ‘Far Eastern Hectare’ programme. The region ranks first in the number of territories open for granting land to citizens for free use: 64% of the total area of the region. More than 6% of the lots are granted to Russians who do not reside in the Far East. A nursery for the cultivation of coniferous trees, bakery, apiaries, factory for wild plants processing, etc. have already been built on the ‘Far Eastern hectares’.

The tourist potential of the Region at the exhibition will be presented by Kuldur health centre, ski resorts, ecological routes, and the Jewish Shtetl historical route.

Guests of the exhibition, who wish to get acquainted with the innovative developments of the region, will see the results of using the technology of controlled non-contact ice destruction. This patented method is relevant for solving problems of development of the Northern Sea Route, in the spheres of energy, housing and communal services.

The region’s best acts will perform on stage every day. The creative part of the presentation is traditionally filled with Jewish melodies, songs, dances and humour.

“Far East Street is an integral part of the Eastern Economic Forum, and every year the pavilions become more interesting. Each of the Far Eastern regions puts their soul into showing their unique culture, their customs, art, and also revealing their economic potential. Unusual architectural forms attract the guests of the forum, as well as the local residents. Last year more than 50,000 people visited the Far East Street. Expositions attract attention. This year we will also try to surprise visitors with our pavilion and its content. Modern technologies will be used. We have something to show,” says Alexander Levintal, Governor of the Jewish Autonomous Region.
