Far Eastern Federal University Education and Research Museum

This impressive building located in the city centre houses the exhibits of five Far Eastern Federal University museums. The University History Museum presents a timeline of the development of further education in Russia’s Far East. The artefacts at the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography acquaint visitors with the history of Primorsky Territory, from ancient times (some 15,000 years ago) to the present day. The Museum of Rare Books is home to printed records of sixteenth- to nineteenth-century culture. The Zoological Museum displays more than 2,500 species of fauna from around the world, presented in a systematic order. Visitors to the Botanical Museum can view specimens of the numerous species of flora found in Russia’s Far East.

Arseniev State Museum of Primorsky Region

The main building of the present-day museum offers a sizeable and informative exhibition space. Permanent exhibits devoted to the history and culture of the city and surrounding region are complemented by temporary exhibition formats which allow the best from the museum’s collections to be displayed, making use of the principles of interchangeability, mobility, and a mix of traditional and new museum technology.
A tour of the exhibitions housed in the Museum’s main building will acquaint visitors with the history of the Far East region, including its archaeology, the indigenous population, man’s journey from West to East, the opening up of a new home for people on the edge of the Empire, the emergence of Vladivostok, the business acumen of the first enterprises to operate in Primorsky Territory, and the Civil War.

Exhibition ‘Open Ocean Halls: Pacific Time’ at the City Museum

Cities by the ocean follow their own rhythm. Time is measured in partings and meetings, by anticipating and returning. ArtEtazh Gallery

The gallery’s permanent exhibition features works from the ArtEtazh Foundation collection, which includes over a thousand pieces of contemporary art: paintings, drawings, photographs, posters, and sculptures.
During EEF 2017, visitors to ArtEtazh will also be able to visit a further two exhibitions:
- ‘Vladivostok – My Story’
A solo exhibition by painter and graphic artist Yuri Aksyonov, a native of Tyumen, marking the fortieth anniversary of his residence and artistic work in Vladivostok.
- ‘D.K’
A solo exhibition of works by Ilyas Zinatulin. Zinatulin fuses utilitarian and artistic practices, transforming the creative space of his canvas into a battlefield. Artistic material is deployed in the space in such a way that some works present their own kind of three-dimensional composition, and are in some sense reminiscent of sophisticated culinary creations.

Admission to the gallery is free.

Primorsky Aquarium

The Primorsky Aquarium is the world’s third largest aquarium. The total interior area exceeds 37,000 m²: almost five football pitches are concealed within the building, which is built in the form of a slightly opened white oyster. The left wing of the aquarium holds the main pool with a 70-metre underwater tunnel. The right wing features a dolphin aquarium with a pool and stands that can accommodate 800 spectators. It’s the country’s first and only aquarium that is part of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

You can visit the Aquarium by reserving a ticket in the ‘Book Excursions’ section of the personal web office. The cost of the ticket is paid by the participant out of pocket.

You can also attend a dolphin show, which takes place daily at 15:00. Due to the high demand for tickets for the performance, we recommend sending a ticket request in advance (no later than two days before the desired date).
Please note that there is a separate charge for the dolphin show.

Primorye State Art Gallery

Exhibition: ‘Russian Art of the Sixteenth to Early Twentieth Centuries in the Collections of Primorye State Art Gallery’
The Primorye Gallery’s collection allows visitors to trace the major landmarks in the development of Russian fine art, from Academism and Classicism to the Wanderers and Modernism.

Exhibition: ‘The Paintings of the Old Masters: Riddles and Discoveries’
This exhibition will be of great interest to both specialists and a broad spectrum of visitors familiar with the major directions of Western European fine art. It includes works by Italian, German, Flemish, Dutch, and French artists from the fourteenth to the early twentieth centuries.

Exhibition: ‘In Touch with Antiquity’
Single-masterpiece exhibitions are set to be the key events, in terms of both significance and duration, of Hermitage Days at the Primorye State Art Gallery. In 2017, the Hermitage made a unique item available for exhibition at the Primorye Gallery – a fourth-century BC krater depicting an offering scene.

Visitors to the gallery will be drawn to another exhibit which forms part of the ‘single masterpiece’ project: the painting March by the great master of the mood landscape genre Isaac Levitan, from the Tretyakov Gallery’s collection.

Grand opening of the ‘Far East Street’ exhibition

After a carnival parade of representatives of the Far Eastern Federal District’s regions and welcome speeches from the Forum’s honoured guests, there will be a presentation from each of the District’s regions where they will perform an artistic ‘calling card’ made up of several short song and dance routines to acquaint EEF 2017 participants with the unique ethnocultural character of the Russian Far East.

The event is free of charge for all EEF 2017 participants.

Reception given by the Governor of Primorsky Territory

Guests at the reception will have the opportunity to network with business partners in an informal setting and establish new connections. Classical music will be performed throughout the evening by the Chamber Ensemble of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, led by Honoured Artist of Russia Anatoly Smirnov. The programme for the concert, entitled ‘Velvet Season’, will be complemented by the coastal surroundings and the sounds of the Pacific Ocean. Eastern Economic Forum participants will enjoy the comforts of an open-air lounge, perfect for meetings and business discussions.
